DURING THE WORKS, DURING YOUR STAY...
We reused the stones removed from the interior earthwork to make the lintel, the jambs and the threshold of the large opening bay in the façade, and the stones from the opening were reused to rebuild the low dry stone wall on the north side.
The aluminium windows were made in the Limousin, and beautiful walnut planks that littered the floor of the first floor were reused to make the living room table and kitchen shelves.
The local producers are waiting for you to discover their specialties and delicacies from the Lot. I have prepared a documentation with all my "favourites" !

SMALL GESTURES FOR IT
- No pesticides in the garden
- A natural grassland that welcomes bio-diversity
- « LPO Refuge » site: presence of nesting boxes and feeders to encourage our local birds to settle in the garden
- Presence of an insect hotel to welcome auxiliary insects
- Compost fed by your vegetable waste, the compost of which is re-used for the flowerbeds and planters of the garden
- Use of organic cleaning products

LET'S REDUCE OUR CONSUMPTION AND SORT OUR WASTE
The gite is equipped with :
- a heat pump for heating
- daily meters to monitor your electricity and water consumption
- LED light bulbs in all rooms
- a rainwater collector where you can fill the watering can and refresh the flowers at the end of the day
- a microporous and irrigating "Oya" pottery in the flower bed
- bags for selective sorting of waste
- plantations are protected by crushed wood
I prefer swimming in living water. This is why you will not find a swimming pool on site but the Dordogne is only a few kilometres from the gite.

Our little ones must be initiated into respect for the environment and we must awaken them to these values so that they become eco-citizens.
This is why La Bocagère has thought of them.
A small space is reserved for them on the first floor, where they will find a suitcase containing binoculars, small notebooks and coloured pencils. They can try to become naturalists, explorers, and discover and understand nature: card games on trees, mushrooms, specialised books.
In the living room, a cabinet of curiosities, at their eye level, will show them how to show off the fantastic treasures found on their walks.

- Set off on foot along the small paths, starting from the gite, and discover the typical bocage of the village of Thégra
- Admire the small heritage which makes the charm of the Lot and which characterizes our region: fountains, wash houses, pigeon houses
- Take time to watch the light of the Lot, to count the stars...
- Breathe in the causse, observe orchids, lizards, listen to the sound of the water
- Meet our local producers and craftsmen: share with them their attachment to this Lot land, and participate in their economic life
